The Hypnotic Time Machine for Painful Memories
Old memories stop having the power to sting you.
You know the one. A moment that resurfaces uninvited, carrying the same flash of shame or regret, no matter how many years have passed since it happened.
This session builds a time machine in your imagination, one with a small screen and a rewind button. You watch the memory once, without reliving it, then step back into it in first person and choose from several different ways it could have gone, until you find the one you would have wanted. You are not changing what happened, only what your mind carries forward from it.
Play it through again for any memory that still resurfaces, and your mind starts reaching for the good ones by default, the way an old radio settles onto a clear station instead of static. It runs about thirteen minutes, and the memory tends to feel a little lighter each time you come back to it.
