Resourceful Defiance to Stop The Pot of Anxiety From Boiling Over
Feel steady and capable before anxiety has a chance to build. That rising, tightening feeling in your chest and jaw, the sense that things are about to boil over, is exactly what this session works with.
Settled into deep relaxation, you're guided to an old, familiar living room and a brown sofa, the kind of place that feels safe without needing explaining. From there, the imagery shifts to a pot of soup simmering on the stove, rising as anxiety rises, and you learn to turn down the heat with slower, longer breaths.
The session builds a different response to that inner voice of doubt, one that meets criticism or worry with steady, resourceful defiance instead of panic. Difficult situations become chances to prove to yourself that you can handle things, rather than moments to dread.
It runs about 25 minutes, and many people find that same calm turning down of the heat becomes easier to reach each time they return to it.
